First Steps Pre-school in Cheadle Hulme has been part of the local community for over 50 years, offering 21 places for children aged 2 years 4 months to 4 years in a safe, nurturing setting by the Ladybrook Valley.

We believe every child is unique and deserves to feel valued and respected, so we create a secure, stimulating space where they can grow at their own pace with the support of a Key Person, a caring team, and active involvement from parents or carers.

Children are warmly welcomed by caring staff who build strong bonds, helping them feel safe and settle quickly. The outdoor spaces are full of opportunities to learn and grow. Children work together to build obstacle courses with crates and planks, showing confidence and teamwork. In the woodland area, they explore nature by searching for bugs and spotting birds, sparking curiosity and joy.
Staff place great value on encouraging independence and supporting each child’s needs. Parents speak highly of the team, praising both the safe, nurturing environment and the staff’s quick response when extra support is needed.
